DIGIBOX, the 1st & only IoT-Smart locker system of Bangladesh just celebrated the 1st anniversary of its formal launch. An event was recently organized to commemorate this. The Chairman of Digibox Limited, Mr. Morshedul Alam Chakladar, along with a2i’s Head of Commercial Strategy Division Mr. Rezwanul Haque Jami and the CEO of Daraz.com Mr. Khondoker Tasfin Alam delivered speeches on behalf of their respective organizations on the occasion.

Previously, Mr. Junaid Ahmed Palak, the Honorable State Minister for M/O Information & Communication Technology had formally inaugurated DIGIBOX on October 11, 2022. Since then, in collaboration with the local e-Commerce giant Daraz.com (affiliate of Alibaba.com), has gradually established its footprints in 35 significant locations across the capital city of Dhaka and all major divisional cities of the country ensuring nearly 200,000 deliveries seamlessly during this period.

Chairman of Digibox Ltd., Mr. Morshedul Alam Chakladar in his welcome speech stated, “Digibox is an IoT-based fully automated smart locker system, encrypted ensuring safety. All the essential hardware and software used in it are 100% locally manufactured, and it can be easily customized as per the client’s business scope and requirements.”

He announced the declaration of this day as “DIGIBOX Day” from now on, and expressed his hope for further expansion of DIGIBOX throughout the country in the coming year, considering the overwhelming customer response in the debuting year. On behalf of Daraz.com Mr. Tasfin Ahmed cheerfully remarked, “Among all the e-Commerce operations managed worldwide under Alibaba.com, the global e-commerce giant, Bangladesh was the only country in 2023 where a smart delivery locker like DIGIBOX was used, which is a matter of great honor for Daraz.com and, for the growing vibrant ICT sector of Bangladesh in general.” He expressed Daraz.com’s commitment to staying alongside DIGIBOX in the coming days. Referring to the ICT-led innovation-friendliness and commitment of the present Government in transforming our daily lives into a more enjoyable while elevating the standard of living, Mr. Rezwanul Haque Jami, from a2i program of the ICT Division mentioned in his speech, “The possibilities and importance of smart-technology based innovations like DIGIBOX are immense in the context of realizing the Govt’s dream of building a Smart Bangladesh encompassing smart cities, smart societies, smart citizens, and an overall smart economy, within 2041.”

Very recently, DIGIBOX has started its operations inside all the MRT Line 6 Metro Rail stations currently active in Dhaka city. As a result, the regular metro rail passengers have already started enjoying the convenience of DIGIBOX within their reach within their designated travel time.
