‘Poshian Conference 2022’ held

Pop of Color Limited, the first organization in Bangladesh working intensively with the goal of the socio-economic development of women and making them self-reliant organized a mega event on 25th November at Hotel Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden in Grand Ballroom.

The program was graced by the chief guest M A Mannan, Minister of Planning of the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh. The guest of honor was Major General Susane Giti. Among other special guests, Dr. Bikarna Kumar Ghosh, Managing Director of BangladeshHi-Tech Park,Sangeeta Khan, the Treasurer of Bangladesh Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Sangita Ahmed, senior vice president of Bangladesh Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry were also present.

The event was sponsored and partnered with by reputed organizations in Bangladesh. Poshian Conference 2022’ was presented by Senora Confidence, title sponsored by Square Toiletries Ltd, co-sponsored by BBB & Amishee, and Dream Weaver as the photography partner, in association with Be Stylish by Mou, Dazzling Dresses, Biye Bari, Vella Aesthetics, Blush by Farzana and Pop of Hope Foundation. Niladrika, Hair & Henna, Neyna, and Monno Ceramics were the publication partners along with PoC’s Creative Hive as their Creative partner.

They had more than 50 e-commerce entrepreneurs as their gift partners including Kaaruz, Lumera, Viva, and many more. The conference comprised seven awareness sessions. Informative discussion sessions were partnered with Paplovix Incepta Pharmaceuticals and Horlicks Women’s Plus. Mental health awareness conducted by Misha Mehjabin, (CEO & Co-Founder of Healthy Bengal), Women Health & Hygiene Talk conducted by Dr. Farzana Rasheed (Associate Consultant, OBS-Gynecology and Fertility Center Square Hospital Ltd), A consultation on nutritional health conducted by Dr. Samia Tasnim, (Nutritionist Lab Aid Hospital), Guideline on cybercrime and social security was conducted by Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Syed Nasirullah Abhi, Srijan, directed by Farzana Rahman Ipshita (Owner of Blush by Farzana), followed by session of choosing the right career guidance which was directed by Rama Rahman (Senior Journalist and Team Manager BBC World, Dilruba Sumaiya (CEO of Vella Aesthetic), Mahmuda Akhtar Lucky (Additional Superintendent Dhaka Metropolitan Police), Zinnia Huq, (Director- Finance Excellence & BPC Finance Unilever Bangladesh), Marufa Islam Mou (Be Stylish by Mou), and Chaity Farhana Rupa, (Director Oika Foundation), Empowering the existence of women was directed by Farida Yasmin (Deputy Commissioner, Bangladesh Police), Nusrat Jahan, (Marketing Director Reckitt Benckiser), Maliha Mannan, (Director of Gemcon Group).

Following the wrap-up of the knowledgeable sessions by renowned speakers, the Pop of Color Award program began. Among the fifty nominees from 10 different categories, ten winners were selected based on public votes and the decisions of jury members. The winning nominees were: Neela Manwar, Managing Director of Athena’s Furniture and home decor for the category Above & Beyond, Dr. Nashid Kamal- Former Professor and Dean Premia University. Nilufar Karim, Chairperson of Shishu Tari, (Category Game Changer), Samina Sara (CEO of Elegant Makeover Fashion) in Finest Makeover Artist category, Zakia Zerin (Manager- Consumer, e-Commerce and Digital, Nestlé Bangladesh) in the Iconic Corporate Lady category. Roya Muntassir, Senior Sub Editor at Prothom Alo, won in the Mission Possible category, Nusrat Jahan (Marketing Director Reckitt Benckiser) in the Icon and Inspiration category, Zakia Sultana Laboni (Director Account Manager MasterCard) in the category of The Trailblazer. Nova Ahmed (Associate Professor and Researcher at North South University) won the Leading by Example category and Naima Rahman Orka (Owner and Founder of BD Budget Beauty) won the Rising Star category. A cultural program session was arranged which included a musical fest, and a fashion ramp show, directed by Fashion Choreographer Tanzil Johnny. The makeover was done by Sajjad Hussain Piyas and Ramp Partner was Dazzling Dresses by Mashroofa, Mim Arif (Owner Marination by MJ).
