BGB Day celebrated in Rajshahi in festive mood

RAJSHAHI, – Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has celebrated its BGB Day- 2021 today to mark the 226th founding anniversary in a befitting manner in festive mood here. BGB 1 Battalion has arranged a cake-cutting function at its headquarter this noon.

Commissioner of Rajshahi division Dr Humayun Kabir, Vice-chancellor of Rajshahi University Prof Golam Sabbir Sattar, BGB Sector Commander Col Anwar Latif Khan, Deputy Inspector General of Police Abdul Baten and Commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Abu Kalam Siddique, among others, were present at the ceremony.

Welcoming the guests Col Anwar Latif Khan attributed that the present BGB has been transformed into a tridimensional force with initiative of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. He said the paramilitary force has been enriched with modern information and communication technologies in addition to many other border management modern techniques.

BGB has started boosting technology uses in border management, adding that the border surveillance technology is very much effective to ensure peace and security along the border through combating border related crimes. “We are committed to combat trafficking of drugs, human and children,” Col Anwar Latif Khan asserted.
