TBT DESK: The Bangladesh China Chamber of Commerce and Industry is set to lead a 23-member business delegation to the 10th China–South Asia Expo (CSAE) and the 30th China Kunming Import and Export Fair 2026, scheduled to be held in Kunming, Yunnan Province, China, from June 11 to 16.
The delegation will be headed by BCCCI President Mohd Khorshed Alam and will comprise leading entrepreneurs and business representatives from Bangladesh’s key sectors, including textiles, ready-made garments (RMG), home textiles, pharmaceuticals, leather and leather goods, agriculture, healthcare, manufacturing, trade and services.
According to BCCCI, the visit aims to further strengthen trade and investment ties between Bangladesh and China, expand business-to-business engagement, promote Bangladeshi products in the Chinese market and attract greater Chinese investment into Bangladesh.
Particular emphasis will be placed on boosting exports of textiles and garments, pharmaceuticals, leather products, agro-based goods and other value-added products, with the broader objective of helping reduce the trade imbalance between the two countries.
During the visit, the delegation is expected to participate in the opening ceremony of the expo, a Bangladesh–China Trade and Investment Forum, high-level business meetings and networking sessions with Chinese enterprises and institutions.
As part of the programme, BCCCI is scheduled to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products to enhance institutional cooperation and strengthen private-sector collaboration between the two countries.
The chamber also said discussions are underway regarding a proposed MoU with Bank of Huzhou Co, Ltd aimed at supporting future business and investment cooperation.
BCCCI expressed optimism that the delegation's participation in the international trade fair would create new opportunities for trade, investment and industrial cooperation, while further deepening the strategic economic partnership between Bangladesh and China.
The China–South Asia Expo is regarded as one of the region’s leading trade and investment platforms, bringing together governments, businesses and investors from across South Asia and China to explore new avenues for economic cooperation.
