A consultancy meeting on the overall development of the Haor region was held in Habiganj with government and NGO officials organized by the Haor Flood Management and Livelihood Improvement Project (HEMLIP) and LGED Habiganj. The meeting was held at the LGED Habiganj conference room on Thursday.

LGED Executive Engineer of Habiganj Md. Abdul Bashir presided over the meeting while LGED Sylhet Region Superintending Engineer Ali Hossain Chowdhury was the chief guest.

Special guests were Deputy Project Director (HEMLIP-LGED) Raihan Siddiqui, Deputy Project Director Dr. Mamtaz Uddin, Facilitator Masud Siddiqui, LGED Habiganj Senior Assistant Engineer Md. Shafiqul Islam, Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist (HEMLIP Dhaka) Abdul Hai Chowdhury.

The meeting was facilitated by DPC (HEMLIP) Habiganj Md. Mujibur Rahman. While speaking as the chief guest on the occasion, LGED Sylhet Region Superintending Engineer Ali Hossain Chowdhury said the present government has launched this project to uplift the living standards of the people of Haor region. We are working to implement this project successfully. No negligence will be accepted in this regard. So you have to perform your duties efficiently.

He said that with the launch of this project, the people of Haor area have returned to life. Everything has changed, starting with the medium of communication.
