Everything to stay shut except emergency services from Friday in Khulna
A view exchange meeting of the district committee on coronavirus prevention was held at DC office conference room on Wednesday morning under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Helal Hossain. Khulna City Corporation Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleq was the chief guest.
Cabinet Secretary (Coordination and Reforms) Mohammad Kamal Hossain and Khulna Divisional Commissioner Mohammad Ismail Hossain were present online at the meeting.
In Khulna, various decisions were taken in the exchange of views considering the populated areas and public gatherings for the overall control of coronavirus.
All shops, raw material markets and public places except emergency services in Rupsha Upazila, Khulna Sadar, Sonadanga and Khalishpur police stations will be closed for a week from June 4 due to the prevalence of corona infection. The district administration, in collaboration with law enforcement agencies, will take steps to close shops in the evening in Khulna metropolis including Rupsha upazila, control crowds in hotels and control the influx of people.
At the same time, the campaign will continue to collect fines through mobile courts to make it compulsory to wear masks, to strengthen the monitoring of the observance of health-rule and not to go out unnecessarily.
During the time, Additional Commissioner of Police Sardar Rakibul Islam, Superintendent of Police Mohammad Mahbub Hasan, Civil Surgeon Dr. Niaz Mohammad, Director of Khulna Medical College Hospital Dr. Md. Rabiul Hasan, Vice President of Medical College Dr. Mehedi Newaz, Deputy Director of Local Government Department of Deputy Commissioner’s Office Md. Iqbal Hossain and Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Yusuf Ali were also present at the occasion.
