Combating Covid-19: District administration conducting mobile courts in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, -Gaibandha district administration has been conducting mobile courts at crowded places here to prevent the outbreak of corona infection. Office sources said, in recent days, the corona situation is deteriorating day by day making the people of the country more worried.

Taking the matter under cognizance, the district administration started to conduct mobile courts at important places of the district to prevent the worsen situation of corona virus. The mobile courts led by executive magistrates are also realizing fines from the persons who are not wearing masks during the pandemic.

The executive magistrates of the courts are also distributing quality masks to the common people specially the daily wage earners, rickshaw pullers, van paddlers and the poor to contain the lethal virus infection.

Besides, now they are also making awareness among the people on the importance of wearing masks during the critical time. The mobile court drives would continue until the situation was normal, said an official of the district administration.

Talking to the BSS Deputy Commissioner (DC) Abdul Matin said as per the directives of the government, the district administration are conducting the mobile courts to combat the corona situation in the district.

The DC also instructed the Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNOs) to conduct the mobile courts at their respective upazilas to create awareness and ensure use of masks among the common people.

Accordingly, the upazila administrations have been conducting mobile courts at their respective upazilas. They also distribute masks to the poor people and motivate them to use masks and maintain the social distance when they will go outside of their homes.

DC Abdul Matin urged the people not to go outside without wearing masks. Everyone should ensure that they will wear masks and maintain the health guidelines, he added.

The DC also urged the solvent section of the society to stand beside the poor people with mask and hand sanitizers to control the outbreak.

“A total of 1,500 persons of the district have been infected with corona virus and of them 1,454 recovered,” Civil Surgeon Dr. AKM Akhtaruzzman said, adding that some 16 people have, so far, been died due to Covid-19.
