DHAKA – Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Bin Murtaza is very much disappointed by losing this kind of close match against West Indies as what went wrong to them in nail-biting three-run defeat during the second ODI in Guyana on Thursday.

Bangladesh was within manageable distance to chase the winning target of 272 runs but they lost the opportunity in their first series win in overseas in nine years.

“It is really disappointing to lose this kind of match as we needed only 14 runs from last 13 balls with six wickets in hands … we should not have lost the match from this position,” said the Bangladesh captain after the match.

Mushfiqur Rahim kept Bangladesh on course by playing magnificent knock of 68 to take Bangladesh close to the target but could not finish it.

Sabbir Rahman also threw his wicket in crucial moment with Bangladesh needed only eight runs from the last overs but his dismissal made Mushfiqur nervous and he gave a catch to Jason at deep midwicket putting end all hope
of Bangladesh.

The speedster said it did not happen with them for the first time …. It happened quite a few occasions. It’s difficult to explain if it was technical or mental fault.

The Narail express said they should have kept their nerve easy in this situation. If they had the tendency to take single, it would have done, but they could not do that.

Mashrafee also pointed Mahmudullah run out in the 46th over that was the turning point of the match. He said if Riyad was not run out at that time may be match would have been finished early.

Mashrafe admitted that the fielding was not of their best as they dropped catches that made the opponent task easy. He however hoped his side would strongly comeback in the final match.
