FIFA president Gianni Infantino to arrive in Dhaka Oct 16

DHAKA,- World football governing body FIFA’s president Gianni Infantino is set to arrive in Dhaka in a good luck tour on Wednesday (October 16) evening.

This was officially disclosed by the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) president Kazi Mohammad Salahuddin at a press conference today (Saturday) at the conference room of BFF Bhavan.

Four more FIFA officials – Mattias Girafstrom (deputy secretary general), Onofre Costa (chief of communication), Sanjeevan Balasingam(director of
member association Asia and Oceania) and Federico Raviglione (president’s office manager) – will also arrive in the city as entourage of FIFA president Gianni Infantino.

During Gianni’s sudden visit, the FIFA boss will pay a courtesy call to Prime Minister at her office on Thursday morning (October 17) at 10.30 am and
he is scheduled to leave Dhaka in the afternoon. The BFF president informed that as Gianni’s visit has been confirmed suddenly, so they would fix and inform the details of itinerary regarding his visit later.

BFF vice president Kazi Nabil Ahmed, FIFA council member and BFF women’s wining committee’s chairman Mahfuza Akter Kiron, BFF members Sawkat Ali Khan Jahangir and Iqbal Hossain and Harunur Rashid and BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Sohag, were among others, present in the press conference.

This will be the fourth occasion of a FIFA boss to visit Bangladesh after Joao Havelange (1980-81) and Sepp Blatter (2006 and 2012).
