Ershad’s health condition remains unchanged: GM Quader

DHAKA,  – The physical condition of ailing Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad, who is now undergoing treatment at the Combined Military
Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka, remains unchanged.

The former president is now responding to the calls of the dear ones as well as moving his eyelids and the duty doctors are considering it as
positive, but his physical condition remains unchanged, Quader said at a press briefing this afternoon.

“Ershad has not been put on life support….he is on oxygen support due to breathing difficulties,” Quader said.

Ershad, the opposition leader in the parliament, was provided with oxygen support as his health condition deteriorated on Sunday.

The Jatiya party urged the media and countrymen not to be confused with any other information except information provided by Jatiya party’s press
briefing or the information released by the ISPR.

Meanwhile, party secretary general and deputy leader of the opposition in the parliament Mashiur Rahman Ranga, has requested the party leaders and activists not to post confused information on the social media including the facebook regarding health condition of Ershad who is 89 years old.

On June 27, Ershad was admitted to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) and he is being treated there for several infections. Ershad has been suffering from various health-related problems over the last nine months.
