In the perspective of Bangladesh, an occupation like photography is not the most welcomed. For women, the choice is much more difficult. Through all kinds of hardships, Farhana Rahman has made a name for herself as a respected photographer in Bangladesh. Today’s story is about her many successes.

Farhana Rahman is the Chief Photographer and CEO of DreamMates Bangladesh. She is considered one of the pioneers of baby photography in our country. Before founding her own photography studio in 2016, she started as a novice photographer in a local company.

DreamMates Bangladesh is one of the major photography studios today. Even though it specialized in infant photography, the studio also offers coverage of wedding and corporate events.

In the past, Farhana was a judge in a photography competition arranged by Genesis Foundation. The money collected from the competition was donated to people affected by the flood.

Farhana was determined to become a photographer. She did not waste time and kept on clicking pictures. As she received a positive response from Facebook, she kept at it. She did not really find much support from her family as she had to return home late after events. But with Farhana’s perseverance, she could establish herself as a photographer and actualize her dream.

Other than photography, Farhana has her own fashion related platform called “Fashion Factory by Farhana”. With her education in fashion design, she carefully catalogued her collection from many imported clothing. She also has a hijab collection called ‘FarZah – The Hijab Brand’ where women can find their desired hijab from a variety of designs.

Even though Farhana does so many things at once, her favourite remains clicking photos of newborn babies. She wants to capture the pure love a new mother has in her eyes when she holds her baby in her lense. As a recognition, she was awarded as the ‘Best Photographer’ in 2017.

This award inspired her to extend herself in neonatal photography. In 2018, she founded her own studio called ‘Farhana Rahman Photography’. Hers is a perfect example of a passion turned profession.
