JS body for increasing lease rates of railway land

DHAKA  – The parliamentary standing committee on railway affairs ministry today asked officials concerned to increase the lease rates of railway land.

“In a meeting the committee urged the ministry to take steps for raising the lease charge of railway land,” a parliamentary secretariat statement said.

The meeting, it said, also recommended constructing boundary walls after recovering occupied land.

The meeting also discussed about total land of Bangladesh Railway Welfare Trust and upgrading of Tin-Shade Market located in Chittagong rail station road area to high rise-building and ensuring Wi-Fi service at railway
stations.

According to the statement this was the 45th meeting of the committee presided over by the committee’s chairman ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury.

Committee members Minister Mujibul Huq, Muhammad Mijanur Rahman, M Sirajul Islam Mollah and Yasin Ali joined the meeting held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.

Secretary of the religious affairs ministry Chowdhury M Babul Hasan and other officers concerned were present.
