Dutch-Bangla Bank, one of the largest banks in Bangladesh, has partnered with global cloud communications platform Infobip to integrate its International SMS service, aiming to enhance engagement and seamless connectivity for both existing and new Non-Resident Bangladeshi (NRB) customers across the world.

This collaboration will empower Dutch Bangla Bank to leverage Infobip’s 800+ direct operator connections, ensuring that time-sensitive messages, including OTP authentication, account balance notifications, and other financial and transactional information, are delivered directly to NRB customers’ local phone numbers.

Shahadat Hossain, Deputy Managing Director, Dutch-Bangla Bank and Harsha Solanki, VP GM Asia, Infobip, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective parties at the signing ceremony held recently at the Head Office of Dutch-Bangla Bank, Dhaka.

Dutch Bangla Bank, in its commitment to maintain its position as the most trusted banking partner, envisions facilitating a seamless banking experience for NRBs.

This initiative not only enables existing customers to continue their relationship with Dutch Bangla Bank from across the world but also allows hassle-free opening of new accounts.

NRBs can use local SIM card to complete KYC procedures through the bank’s mobile banking app. Leveraging Infobip’s global reach and secure infrastructure, Dutch Bangla Bank will further enhance its ability to serve existing NRB customers and onboard new ones.

Also, this initiative ties into the government’s vision of a ‘Smart Bangladesh’ by enabling Non-Resident Bangladeshis (NRBs) worldwide to connect with their home country bank through an app, thereby fostering increased digital adoption.

Harnessing Infobip’s reach across 190 countries, Dutch Bangla Bank has successfully rolled out the International SMS service in 25 countries.
