The main theme of this year’s police week was ‘In Bangabandhu’s Bangladesh, the police are on the side of the common people’. A part from some criticisms, this motto is generally found to be of utmost resolution. Because this police force are doing a great job by providing multi-faceted services to all regardless of their class and Scio economic background. Like that famous quote “I will lose the sun on that horizon, set, but still leave a mark on earth’s chest” similarly a resolute officer like the present Gazipur Metropolitan Police Officer (DC-DB) Mr. Kamal Hossain brings out the best from hissubordinate Officers like a true leader. Hence this leadership quality gives him immense assistance while working for the public and their welfare while he keeps his forces on their toes in order prepare for the upcoming adversities.

Relevant occurrence took place on March 5, 2023. Mr. Md. Jahangir Alam, Senior Experimental Officer, BangladeshAtomic Energy Commission, Savar. Like other colleagues due to his job, he bought a plot of land in Latifpur Ward no-02 under Kashimpur Thana of Gazipur city, near atomic colony, after being lured by the light of the area. Recently, he decided to sell the land and settle elsewhere.

It was the immaculate piece of land as he had known. Hence it was natural to sell it to the customer at the right price. But there was a delay due to the origin and brokering of some scoundrels in the area. Meanwhile, a verbal agreement was made with one. Everything was going well on course but the bandits’ tactics again had cause hindrance again.

Mentionable that the land was close to a plot of another leading group of companies, local criminals made demands for their needsand the local public representatives use illegal force by using the names of various people.When inbroad daylight, the organized group broken the brick boundary and occupied it with a new boundary. Despite the landowner’s objection, no action was being taken rather life threats were being made towards him. These chains of events tend tocontinue and the local group of goons kept their illegal actions going which became the cause of the landowners’ sleepless nights and constant panic.

In such a terrible situation, the mentioned matter was able to reach the ears of Mr. Hossain through aconcerned source. He advised the victim to gather courage and go to Kashimpur Thana without delay. Just like his words the actions unraveledand the specified place was raided with the necessary force from the police station following the arrest of the culprits withconviction and proper justicethe cruelty had stopped. And upon ignoring the various threats, intimidation and the usage of false names of theupper class by the criminal gangs which provided protection through a legal process until late at night. This created avivid example of hope in despair in that location.

Not being limited to just one occurrence. Mr.Hossain has declared war against murderers, terrorists, drug dealers, land, robbers, extortionists, etc., day and night, winter and summer through the air of change, dynamic work and honesty wherever he has worked. He generated immediate solutions and continued efforts to ensure civic services and public safety for all.

Mr. Kamal Hossain is the proud and responsible officer of the police department, previously served as the SP of PBI unit inBrahmanbaria including Munshiganj, DB, Dhaka’s Mirpur, Lalbagh, Thakurgaon etc. The people of every locality is remembering fervently as a token of his good deeds. Therefore, the highest echelons of the Ministry of Home Affairs also thePolice Department should find such smart, honest and efficient officers and award them departmental and state posts.

This successful police officer was born in 1981 in Tenua village of PurbadhalaUpazila of Netrakona district in anoble Muslim family. His proud father is late Shamser Ali and mother name isHajeraKhatun. He is the fifth amonghis six sisters and two brothers. He passed S.S.C from Hiranpur High School in Purbadhala and H.S.C from Dhaka College then completed L.L.B (Hons) and L.L.M from the University of Dhaka. He was a brilliant and studious student from his student life.

Due to his persistent interest, he was appointed as a teacher of university at the beginning of his career and received a great response from the students. Shortly afterwards, he joined as Assistant Judge then joined the post of ASP through the 27th BCS-Police as he wanted to be a directservant of the people and the state as this duty attracted him.

Those concerned think that he can occupy the highest position of the police department by achieving more successin his career by proving his competence in the UN missions for the country and abroad. Because in order to build a smart, progressive and self-reliant Bangladesh, first of all, a beautiful society free from crime is needed. And if Trinomial’s township is good, the country is good. The development progress of the government is active. That is why he isdetermined and destined to protect the internal order of the country.

Apart from all his professional achievements he is enjoying a happy conjugal life. Everybody is loving with respect asgood Police Officer.He is a good natured and soft-spoken demeanor, a reliable, philanthropic and unpretentious person among his relatives and friends making him a transparent personality. His responsible wife Mrs. Jimu Kamal is inspiring & supporting him always and to take care of the family also to do good work amidst his busy schedule. They have two diamond studded sons. We pray for him and his family members with good health and future success accompanied.
