TBT Report : As a part of providing direct land services to the people, the district commissioner of Dhaka, Mohammad Mominur Rahman, handed over cheques for acquiring lands of 53 people. In the meantime, additional district commissioner Shahnaz Sultana was also present.

This is an effort of ensuring skilled, transparent, and accountable service by the ministry of land. The cheques were handed over at the conference center of Dhaka district administration. In total, cheques worth 30 crore and 29 lakh were handed over to 53 people. The lands were acquired for the projects of Roads and Highways HQ Approach Road Construction, Mirza-Warshi Balia Road Construction, the third phase of Dhaka Elevated Expressway, Dhaka Mass Rapid Transit Development, Dhaka-Ashulia Elevated Expressway etc. One of the recipients of the cheque said, ‘I’m delighted to get the compensation and thank the district administrator among others.’

The district administrator, in his speech said, “to ensure transparency and accountability in giving compensation after acquiring lands, direct cheque hand-over process has been implemented”
