CUMILLA,  – Sewing machines were distributed among 20 registered fishermen of Homna upazila of the district this morning at the initiative of the Greater Cumilla District Fisheries Development Project.

Homna Upazila Fisheries Department distributed the sewing machine among the fishermen at a function at the Upazila Parishad auditorium. Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Rumon Dey distributed the sewing machines among the fishermen as the chief guest.

Upazila Fisheries Officer Shahenur Miah, Upazila Parishad Chairman Rehana Begum, Vice-Chairman Mahosin Sarkar, Municipal Mayor Advocate Nazrul Islam, among others, were present on the occasion. Sewing machines will be distributed to every registered fisherman in phases, Upazila Fisheries Officer Shahenur Miah said.
