Richi Solaiman was once a familiar face on television dramas, appearing regularly in a range of productions. However, her acting career became less active after she moved to the United States with her family. She has been living in Bangladesh for the past few years, and her presence on television has gradually increased. Now, she is set to return to long-running TV serials with AI Junior, directed by Nazrul Islam Raju.
Although Richi acted in the seven-episode miniseries Apurnota earlier this year, AI Junior marks her return to long-running serials after many years. Shooting for the series has already begun. However, citing restrictions imposed by the channel authorities, the actress declined to share further details for now.
“I am acting in the serial AI Junior, and that is true. I cannot say anything more at this stage. I will share the details after the project is officially announced at a press conference,” she said.
According to sources, AI Junior will begin airing on Deepto TV soon. Details about the serial are expected to be announced at a press conference scheduled for October 25. Written by Ahmed Khan Hirak, the production also features Rawnak Hasan, Zinat Shanur Swagata, Naresh Bhuiyan, Sujat Shimul and child actor Rai Rajannya, among others.
Meanwhile, Richi’s first feature film, Robi in Dhaka, is also expected to be released this year. The film marks her big-screen debut in a career spanning three decades. Directed by Rajib Saleheen, the contemporary story has completed shooting and is now in post-production. Imtiaz Barshan also stars in the film.
Richi is equally reluctant to discuss the film before its official announcement. “I would like to speak about it after the release date is officially announced. This is my first film, so it is certainly special to me. I spoke with the director about the project last Thursday. The team is busy with post-production, and the official release announcement may come in November, after which the promotional campaign will begin,” she said.
