Aamir, Shah Rukh and Salman unite for Asha Bhosle tribute video

Aamir Khan has joined Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan for “Asha Forever”, a special music video paying tribute to legendary singer Asha Bhosle. The project is being led by composer AR Rahman.

Aamir’s involvement follows Rahman’s announcements about Shah Rukh and Salman joining the project. Rahman had earlier thanked Shah Rukh for agreeing to feature in the tribute, followed by a similar announcement for Salman.

The project brings together the three Khans in a musical tribute to Bhosle, whose career spanned more than seven decades. Their participation has generated particular interest given how rarely the three actors appear together in the same project.

Rahman had first offered a glimpse of the tribute in June, when he released a teaser featuring Bhosle herself alongside musicians and performers involved in the project. He revealed at the time that the tribute had begun as an idea while Bhosle was still alive.

“This tribute began as a dream while Asha Bhosle ji was still with us. We had hoped she would witness the love and gratitude this project carries,” Rahman wrote on social media.

Bhosle died on April 12 this year at the age of 92 following multiple organ failure. She had remained involved in the early stages of the tribute before her death.

The tribute also features veteran actor Kamal Haasan, who Rahman has thanked for joining the project.

“Asha Forever” is also being associated with the release of Bhosle’s final recorded film song, “Ae Meri Zindagi, Tu Chupi Hai Kahan”, from “Om Ka Hari”. The song was recorded in 2023 and is scheduled to be released on September 8, Bhosle’s birth anniversary.

The release date for the full “Asha Forever” music video has not yet been announced.
