Actor Joy Chowdhury and Mou Khan-starrer upcoming film “Sneher Bondhon” is set to hit cinemas on Friday (16 October), coinciding with the Durga Puja festival.
Directed by Kamruzzaman, the film is based on true events and explores family relationships, emotions and interpersonal conflicts.
The film was initially scheduled for release in July, with its trailer and a song unveiled ahead of the planned premiere. However, the makers later postponed the release, opting for a Durga Puja release instead.
Joy Chowdhury and his team are now busy promoting the film. The official promotional campaign recently kicked off with a press conference at the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC).
Speaking at the event, Joy Chowdhury unveiled ambitious plans to promote the film nationwide.“Releasing a film outside the Eid festival has become a courageous decision. I thank the producer for taking this step. Regardless of the box-office outcome, we want to ensure extensive publicity,” he said.
“We are planning something unprecedented in Bangladeshi cinema to reach audiences across the country. We want every household to know that Sneher Bondhon is releasing today (16 October),” he added.
Director Kamruzzaman expressed optimism about the film’s reception. “In the past, social dramas and action films were released during Durga Puja. Our film follows that tradition, and I hope audiences will enjoy it,” he said.
The film stars Mou Khan opposite Joy Chowdhury. The cast also includes Shiba Shanu, Kazi Hayat, Saberi Alam, Nader Chowdhury and Rina Khan.
Produced by Md Shah Alam, “Sneher Bondhon” promises to offer the audience an emotional family drama during the festive season.
