With the trailer of Daayra set to arrive on August 31, the makers have offered another glimpse into the film’s world with a new poster featuring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran. The crime thriller, directed by Meghna Gulzar, keeps its central mystery under wraps while hinting at a connection between its two leads.
In the new poster, Kareena and Prithviraj are seen standing back-to-back, with layers of police tape separating them. An obscured face in the background adds another layer of intrigue to the visual, while the positioning of the two actors suggests that their characters may be looking at the same set of events from different perspectives.
The poster does not reveal much about the plot, but its imagery points towards a crime investigation at the heart of the story. The police tape, the hidden figure and the apparent divide between the two protagonists leave questions around what connects their characters and how their stories intersect.
Daayra marks the first on-screen collaboration between Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran. The film also marks Meghna Gulzar’s reunion with Junglee Pictures, following their collaborations on Talvar and Raazi.
Inspired by true events, Daayra is written by Yash Keswani, Sima Agarwal and Meghna Gulzar. Daayra is scheduled for an exclusive theatrical release on September 18, 2026.
