Well-known Shamim Ahmed as Song-writer already came to the attentive Literature lovers as they already have opportunity of reading his other ten poem anthologies. Well attentive to the oriental modern poetries he brought modern imaginary visions, conscience of modern happenings of the world, along with very tiny picture-sketch of old fable and beliefs.
It is easy for the readers to enter in his poems who usually read Poet Nazrul and Rabindranath and also David Frost, Baudelaire along-with recent poets of Bangladesh such as Abdul Mannan Syed, Al Mahmud, Helal Hafiz, Sunil Ganggulee etc. As because the present situation of Bangladesh and the world became much unrest and goes on with enmity and hike to each and other, the poet is also much restless in his present poems also. The poet writes,
Slipped legs and fell down suddenly/ In the dark hole at night/ Where men are praying for their freedom/ And crying till now/ In their ancestor’s flowing blood of trail/ They are hunting memoirs of their/ Lost kith and kin-
(Sharp Promise : Page-14)
In these lines the poet is haunting his heroic ancestor fighters’ who fought for the betterment of them.
Further the poet writes,
Bangladesh is like dark deep night!/ It seems / A Star off-orbit/ After finish burning all helium stands/ Beside one corner of black-hole/ Sacrificing all immortality/ Embracing death of eternal dark . . . .
(Bangladesh : Page-20).
Here poet is in wretched revealing his country’s present journey towards downstairs.
I myself put out fire out of my disgust/ And I cannot lit it again/ Amidst the throng of countless fireflies/ I gather only darkness,/ I say to my heart’s fire, light on/ I search of pure blossom cavalry/ The way dazzled Che Guevara’s eyes—
(Che Guevara’s craze : Page-14)
The poet is entrapped in such a time from which circle he cannot comes out. He is imprisoned in the body as if, within the time of eternity.
