BGB deployed to ensure smooth Eid travel

In a bid to maintain law and order, control traffic congestion and ensure hassle-free Eid travel during the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Azha 2026, members of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed in several key areas of the capital and adjoining districts.

According to official sources, BGB personnel have been stationed in New Market, the Elevated Expressway, Savar’s Nabinagar and Baipal areas, Gazipur City Corporation and Gazipur Chowrasta to assist the civil administration in maintaining smooth traffic flow and public security.

Under government directives, BGB members will remain on duty from seven days before Eid until three days after Eid to support the overall law and order situation and facilitate safe and uninterrupted movement of homebound passengers, said a press release.

The force will also assist executive magistrates in conducting mobile court operations at important toll plazas, highways and traffic congestion-prone areas to ensure discipline and reduce public suffering during the Eid rush.
