KCC mayor distributes food aid among 500 needy people

KHULNA,  – Mayor of Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Talukder Abdul Khaleque today distributed foodstuffs among 500 needy, distressed and jobless people of city’s different wards to mitigate their sufferings caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The mayor distributed foodstuffs including rice, pulses, potatoes, oil, milk, sugar and semai, among the distressed people on Khulna Shaheed Hadis Park premisses at the initiative of Khulna district administration by strictly following health safety guidelines.

Khulna Deputy Commissioner Md Helal Hossain, General Secretary of Khulna City Awami League (AL) MDA Babul Rana, President of Khulna Journalists Union Md Mahbub Alam Sohag, among others, were present.

While distributing the food items, the city mayor said that the common people of the country will must get food during coronavirus outbreak.

“Everyone should follow the government’s instructions to get rid of Corona,” he said, adding that the government continues distributing relief items among the helpless, destitute and extremely poor people.

Khulna district administration led by deputy commissioner Md Helal Hossain started distributing second phase of human assistance to distressed people during coronavirus pandamic on April 17 last.

Over 6,000 jobless people, so far, has received, food aid till today, said Md Helal Hossain, adding that humane assistance will continue.
