Earthquake jolts Sylhet

SYLHET, – A moderate earthquake jolted different parts of Sylhet last night.

Meteorologist of Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD), Sylhet Sayeed Ahmed Chowdhury told BSS that the quake was felt at 4.4 degree on Richter scale and at a depth of 32 km inside of the earth in Nongstoin area under Meghalaya state in India at 01:43 am last night.

It originated 244 km away from Dhaka and 92 km from Sylhet town. However, no casualty was reported.
