Bangladesh’s advancement earns global appreciation

RANGPUR,– The continuous advancement of Bangladesh toward prosperity has turned the country into a role model of development improving the standard of living of common people and earning global appreciation.

The observation came today at a discussion organised by District Information Office under the publicity affairs programme on ‘Advancement of Bangladesh toward Prosperity’ at Deuti School and College in Pirgachha upazila in the district.

The event was arranged to inform common people about 10 special initiatives of Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina and massive successes already achieved by the government in the last eleven years and its future development plans.

With Principal of the educational institution ABM Mizanur Rahman in the chair, Senior District Information Officer Md. Humayun Kobir attended the discussion as the chief guest.

In the beginning, Assistant District Information Officer Alamgir Kabir narrated positive impacts on life and livelihoods of rural people following successful implementation of massive government programmes, including the PM’s 10 special initiatives.

Parul union Chairman Abul Kalam Azad Khan, union Awami League President Alhaj Tofazzal Hossain, Pirgachha Upazila Women Affairs Officer Seloara Begum and Upazila Cooperative Officer Afsana Jahan addressed as special guests.

In his speech, Humayun Kobir discussed the successes achieved in socio-economic and political empowerment of rural people and women following successful implementation of the PM’s 10 special initiatives and massive social safety-net programmes.

“The country has achieved successes in sanitation, agriculture, education, health, family planning, women and children empowerment, power, digitisation, poverty alleviation, climate change adaptation and environment, employment and other sectors,” he said.

He discussed preparations taken for the year-long celebration of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the Mujib Year and realisation of the Visions 2021 and 2041 to build a developed Bangladesh.

Principal ABM Mizanur Rahman said the massive developments in every sector have improved the life and living standard of rural people in the last eleven years in Pirgachha upazila as elsewhere in the country.
