Two JMB men held in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, – Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested two members of the outlawed militant organization Jamaitul Mujahidin Bangladesh (JMB) from Santirhat area under Patiya Upazila of the district early today.

The detained were identified as Abdulllah Al Sayed and Mohammad Ismail, both hailed from Godagari thana of Rajshahi and Teknaf thana of Cox’s bazar respectively.

Assistant Director of RAB-7 Mashkur Rahman confirmed the arrest of the JMB men.

The RAB official told BSS that on information, RAB set up a check post in Shantirhat area, when the JMB men got down from the bus and tried to run away the RAB personnel arrested them from the spot.

Law enforcers also recovered some leaflets and Jihadi books from their possession, he added.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Patiya thana Mohammad Borhanduddin told BSS that a case, under Terrorism Control Act, was lodged with the police station.
