AL to accord mass reception to PM July 21

DHAKA – Awami League will accord a mass reception to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at 3 pm on July 21 at the historic Suhrawardy Udyan for the incumbent government’s outstanding contribution and achievements to the country’s development.

The reception will be arranged for attaining the eligibility of Bangladesh to graduate to a developing nation, launching Bangabandhu Satellite-I, Sheikh Hasina’s achievement of Global Women’s Leadership Award from US-based NGO Global Summit of Women and her receiving D. Litt from Kazi Nazrul University of India.

Party General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said this at a press conference after attending a view-exchange meeting at the AL central office at Bangabandhu Avenue here.

He said a stage and decoration sub-committee has been formed under the leadership of State Minister for Textiles and Jute Miraza Azam and State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid.

To make the programme a success, AL held the view-exchange meeting with presidents and general secretaries of associate bodies and Dhaka, Manikganj, Gazipur, Narayanganj and Munshiganj districts and city units of AL and AL
lawmakers.

AL Presidium Members Advocate Sahara Khatun, Dr Abdur Razzak, Advocate Abdul Matin Khasru, joint general secretaries Mahbubul Alam Hanif, Advocate Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Organizing Secretaries Ahmed Hossain, AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, AKM Enamul Haque Shamim, Publicity and Publication Affairs Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud, Office Secretary Dr Abdus Sobhan Golap, Relief and Social Welfare Secretary Sujit Roy Nandi, Information and Research Affairs Secretary Advocate Afjal Hossain and Science and Technology Affairs Secretary Engineer Abdus Sabur were present on the occasion.

Awami Sechchhasebak League President Advocate Mollah Md Abu Kawser, Jatiya Sramik League President Shukkur Mahmud, Jubo Mahila League President Najma Akter (Eds: Correction),  Mahila Awami League General Secretary Mahmuda Begum Krik and Gazipur City Corporation mayor Jahangir Alam attended the meeting.
