CDA evicts 50 illegal structures from Ctg city canals

CHATTOGRAM, – Chattogram Development Authority (CDA) in a special drive today evicted 50 illegal structures, erected on both banks of the city canals.

The eviction drive led by CDA special magistrate Saiful Islam in cooperation with engineering corps of Bangladesh Army started the drive at
Firingibazar canal under Kotwali thana in the morning.

The team bulldozed 50 illegal structures, including one nine-storied, two six-storied, two three-storied, and a good number of makeshift buildings in
seven-hour drive beginning around 10 am.

Lieutenant Colonel Shah Ali, project director of CDA TK 5,616 crore mega project, told journalists that the evection drive on the banks of 13 canals
including Chaktai, Birza, Rajakhali, Mirza, Hijra, Mohesh, Mariam Bibi, Khondakia, Kalabagicha, and Baromasi cannels began in July.

The drive will be completed within September, he added.
