DHAKA, – Deputy Attorney Generals (DAGs) and assistant Attorney Generals (AAGs), who were appointed before 2017, have been asked to send their resignation letter to Attorney General Mahbubey Alam.

He gave the instruction at a meeting held today at his office with almost all the DAGs and AAG’s were present and many of them have admitted that they have already filed their resignation letters.

The instruction from Attorney General came a day after Law Minister Anisul Huq’s comment where he said new DAGs and AAG’s will be appointed and that is why officials, who have been appointed before 2017, have been asked to resign.

“We have informed Attorney General about this through a letter and they he must have taking steps,” Anisul told newsmen after attending a programme in the capital yesterday.

Currently there are 67 DAGs and 106 AAG’s are working, of whom 33 DAGs and 54 AAG’s were appointed before 2017.

Attorney General Mahbubey Alam said the law officials who have rendered their resignation letters so far, will continue on working till their resignation letters are accepted.
