Sharadiya Durga Puja, the biggest festival for Bengalis, is just around the corner. Adding to the festive spirit, a new song is set to arrive this year. Popular contemporary singer Ibnat Salma and acclaimed West Bengal singer and composer Akassh Sen have teamed up for their new song ‘Baje Dhol’.
Blending the festive atmosphere of Durga Puja with the joy and rhythm of traditional dhak beats, the song is expected to create an energetic mood among listeners throughout the celebrations.
The song has been written by lyricist Rafique Mahmud, while its tune and music have been arranged by music director N Farhad. Recording of the song was recently completed at a studio in the capital.
Speaking about the song after the recording, Ibnat Salma said, “Durga Puja is a festival of joy, lights and music. The lyrics and tune of ‘Baje Dhol’ are quite different. This is my second song with Akassh Sen. I hope listeners will enjoy it.”
Akassh Sen said, “Listeners love to hear lively songs during the festive season, and ‘Baje Dhol’ is exactly that kind of energetic track. N Farhad has done a wonderful job with the music arrangement. I hope our song will add even more joy to the Puja celebrations.”
According to the team, the song, accompanied by a special music video, will be released soon ahead of the upcoming Durga Puja celebrations. It will be available simultaneously on APT Media’s official YouTube channel and various music platforms.
The team hopes ‘Baje Dhol’ will become a part of the Puja celebrations, with people across Bengal enjoying its lively beats at pandals throughout the festivities.
