The legendary ‘Pran Bhromora’ from traditional Bengali folklore is getting a modern makeover in a new web series that blends love, emotion and mystery. Directed by popular filmmaker Vicky Zahed, the series will be released as an iScreen Original Series.

Vicky Zahed has previously won widespread audience appreciation and success for directing iScreen’s web series ‘Chokro’ and ‘Chokro 2’. Continuing that journey, he is now bringing ‘Pran Bhromora’, a story with a completely different atmosphere and narrative. The series reimagines a familiar folklore myth through the lens of modern-day love, relationships, emotions and psychological mystery.

A press conference was held at the Channel i Studio Baranda to officially announce the series. The event was attended by Faridur Reza Sagar, Managing Director of Impress Telefilm Limited/Channel i; popular filmmaker Vicky Zahed; actor Tawsif Mahbub; and actress Shreyasi Shreya.

In traditional Bengali fairy tales, the life of a demon or monster was often believed to be hidden inside a mysterious bumblebee. ‘Pran Bhromora’ takes this timeless myth and presents it in an entirely new way. The story revolves around an invisible connection, deep love and a strange, inexplicable feeling.

A person’s physical existence may eventually disappear, but do the emotions, feelings and love within them ever truly die? Can the pull of those emotions bring the past back to life? The series takes viewers on a journey to explore these questions and uncover the mysteries surrounding them.

According to the makers, the series draws inspiration from the ‘Pran Bhromora’ stories many of us heard from our grandmothers as children, but presents the concept from a completely different perspective. Here, true love is symbolically represented by a ‘Pran Bhromora’. Where is that love hidden? Why must it be found? And why would anyone need to destroy it? The answers to these questions will gradually unfold through the twists and turns of the story.

‘Pran Bhromora’ is a romantic mythological thriller. The two lead roles are played by Tawsif Mahbub and Shreyasi Shreya. The series also features several popular actors in other important roles, including Intekhab Dinar.

Filming is scheduled to begin in October, with the makers planning to release ‘Pran Bhromora’ on the iScreen OTT platform soon after production is completed.

Bringing together a familiar folklore myth, modern love, mystery and thriller elements, ‘Pran Bhromora’ promises to offer iScreen viewers a fresh and intriguing storytelling experience.
