Election Commission (EC) has opened registration for in-country postal voting for the by-election to Thakurgaon-1 constituency of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad, scheduled to be held on October 29.

Government officials and employees working within the country will be able to register under the ‘In-Country Postal Vote’ (ICPV) category from September 27 to October 8, said a notification of the EC.
The notification urged government officials and employees willing to cast their votes in the Thakurgaon-1 by-election, as well as those engaged in election duties, to complete registration through the ‘Postal Vote BD’ mobile app.

Earlier, on September 12, Team Leader of the OCV-SDI project on expatriate voter registration Salim Ahmad Khan told BSS that registration of the expatriate voters wishing to vote in the Thakurgaon-1 by-election through the ‘Postal Vote BD’ mobile app ended on September 20.
