Shokh returns to limelight with her signature glamour

TBT REPORT

Actress Anika Kabir Shokh had stepped away from the intense glare of the limelight, retreating into the quiet warmth of family life, motherhood and raising her child. Amid the demands of everyday life, taking care of herself had perhaps taken a back seat.

Behind her familiar appearance, however, a layer of extra weight had gradually accumulated. Once known for her slim, glamorous figure, Shokh’s weight reached 70kg. Although she had managed to bring it down from 80kg to 70kg, her difficult battle with excess weight eventually stalled. Despite being motivated to stay fit, her enthusiasm repeatedly faded amid the mechanical routine of the gym.

Then a small message from fate suddenly changed everything. When a doctor told her that fat had accumulated in her liver, a new determination awakened within Shokh. This time, the battle was not simply about looking good on screen—it was about her health and her life.

She abruptly bid farewell to her old habit of indulging in her favourite foods. Once a great lover of beef, Shokh had only two pieces of meat on her plate during this year’s Eid-ul-Azha. She also eliminated potatoes and fatty, tempting foods from her diet, replacing them with green vegetables, eggs and chicken.

After seven months of dedicated effort and strict discipline, Shokh seemed to rediscover herself. Her weight dropped from 70kg to an impressive 55kg.

Last Friday, after a long hiatus, she walked the ramp at a glamorous fashion show, leaving those present amazed by her transformed appearance. Four years into motherhood and while raising her four-and-a-half-year-old child, Shokh now appears fully prepared to reclaim her familiar place on the silver screen.

Offers for films and television dramas have already begun coming her way. With her old magical charm and renewed energy, Shokh is now ready to write a new chapter in her journey back to the world of glamour.
