Monir Khan brings mother-son story to new song

TBT DESK

National Film Award-winning and popular singer Monir Khan is set to release a new song based on a deeply emotional story of a mother and her son. Titled Ma, the song, written and composed by HM Nipu, portrays a mother’s emotions, love and religious devotion surrounding her seriously ill son.

Recording for the song has already been completed, and a video will also accompany its release.

The song’s story revolves around a terminally ill son who tells his mother his final wish before his death. His wish is to sit in front of his mother and recite the Quran before he dies.

The emotional final moments shared by the mother and son form the heart of the song.

Monir Khan said, “I have recorded Ma, written and composed by HM Nipu. It is more than just a song—it has emerged from the deepest emotions of a mother and her child. I hope it creates a different kind of feeling among listeners and touches their hearts.”

The lyricist said the mother’s emotions for her sick child and her religious feelings make the song even more poignant and heartbreaking. The mother and her ailing son are the two central characters of the song.

Reza Mahmud has directed the music video. Child artist Shishir, Taif, Swapna, Falgun and others have acted in the video.

The song is scheduled to be released soon on the Channel HM YouTube channel.
