AI Fraud Detection Research Earns International Financial Analytics Award

Nasir Uddin received the Financial Analytics Excellence Award 2026 at the Second International Conference on AI-Driven Innovation, Modern Technology and Multidisciplinary Research in Patent Development, held August 28-29, 2026. The selection committee considered numerous high-quality submissions and, according to the award materials, recognized Uddin's abstract as exceptionally insightful and closely connected to the conference theme. He was therefore named among the distinguished award recipients. The honor was conferred by Eudoxia Research University, USA, and the Eudoxia Research Centre, India. The official program records the recognition as the Financial Analytics Excellence Award under the Royal Golden Fellow Award - Silver category. Nasir Uddin is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Technology Management at the University of Bridgeport, USA.

Uddin also participated in Technical Session 4 as oral presenter OP013. His presentation, titled "Artificial Intelligence Driven Financial Fraud Detection for Enhancing Organizational Integrity and Risk Management," explored how organizations can use artificial intelligence to improve fraud detection while strengthening risk controls and ethical accountability.

The quantitative study surveyed 145 U.S. professionals from finance, banking, insurance, information technology, and corporate organizations. Uddin used IBM SPSS Statistics Version 29 to conduct descriptive, correlation, and multiple-regression analyses. The resulting model explained 75.2 percent of the variance in financial fraud detection performance, demonstrating substantial explanatory strength.

Fraud Detection Capability emerged as the leading predictor (beta = 0.361), followed by AI Technology Readiness (beta = 0.301), Risk Management Effectiveness (beta = 0.263), and Organizational Integrity (beta = 0.227). Each predictor was statistically significant, showing that technology delivers stronger results when supported by sound governance and risk practices.

The responses also indicated growing institutional use of AI. More than half of participants reported full integration, approximately one-third reported partial adoption, and respondents emphasized accurate detection and continuous monitoring as important capabilities.

The official agenda featured an international group of academic and professional participants. Among the listed leaders and keynote speakers were Prof. Dr. Rhituraj Saikia, President of Eudoxia Research University; Prof. Dr. Caleb Moyo, its Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Dr. Dimitrios A. Karras of Greece; Prof. K. V. Jayakumar of IIT Dharwad; and Mohd Zaki Awang Chek of University Technology MARA (UiTM), Malaysia. Speakers and presenters represented institutions across the United States, India, Greece, Malaysia, Canada, Poland, the United Kingdom, and other countries. In this international setting, Uddin's award highlighted the wider relevance of AI-supported financial analytics for fraud prevention and organizational resilience.

For U.S. financial institutions and companies, the findings provide a practical basis for detecting suspicious patterns earlier, directing investigators toward higher-risk transactions, protecting organizational assets, and improving regulatory compliance. The study also underscores the need for trained employees, reliable processes, and responsible oversight of automated systems.

The research has potential value for Bangladesh as digital banking and mobile financial services continue to expand. Banks, insurers, and financial-technology providers could apply the framework to strengthen internal controls, reduce fraud losses, support compliance, and increase public trust. Because the original participants were U.S.-based, Uddin recommends future testing within Bangladesh's financial environment before broad implementation.

By connecting technical readiness with organizational integrity and effective risk management, the study offers a balanced approach to AI adoption. Its conclusions can help decision-makers in the United States, Bangladesh, and other economies pursue innovation without overlooking the governance standards needed for dependable financial systems.
