Bangladesh reaffirms unwavering solidarity with Palestinian people: Humaiun

State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir today reaffirmed Bangladesh's strong and unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights amid the continuing situation in the occupied Palestinian territories.

He made the reaffirmation when Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Bangladesh Yousef S. Y. Ramadan called on him here, according to a Foreign Ministry press release.

During the meeting, the Palestinian ambassador congratulated Kobir on assuming his responsibilities as state minister for foreign affairs and thanked Bangladesh for its continued support for the Palestinian people and their cause.

Kobir reiterated Dhaka's steadfast position in support of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

The state minister also expressed deep concern over Israel's plan to expand settlements in the E1 area of the occupied West Bank.

He stressed that such actions are contrary to international law and relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.

The two sides also discussed the situation in Gaza as well as ongoing bilateral cooperation between Bangladesh and Palestine in different sectors.
