The song was released on YouTube by the makers of the film, months after Bhosle’s death in April this year. The accompanying music video features glimpses of the legendary singer recording the track in the studio, along with moments from her interactions with the film’s makers and actor Anshuman Jha.
More than a song launch, the video offers a behind-the-scenes look at the making of what is being presented as Bhosle’s final recorded film track. Ae Meri Zindagi has been composed by Rajieve Sarang, with lyrics by Pradeep Sharma Khusro. Bhosle’s rendition has also prompted an emotional response from listeners.
The video includes a clip of Asha Bhosle recalling how she agreed to record the song. She said the makers had contacted her and sent her the track, which she immediately liked.
“When they called me and said they were sending me the song, I heard it and said yes. I did not ask anything else. I liked the song so much,” Bhosle said.
The song’s release has since prompted an emotional response on social media. One fan wrote, “Another gem from heaven! Happy Birthday. Stay happy wherever you are,” while another commented, “Treat to the ears always. Missing her so much.” Several others shared heart emojis and messages remembering the singer.
Asha Bhosle died on April 12, 2026, at the age of 92, at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai due to multiple organ failure following a cardiac arrest.
Her final feature-film song now becomes part of Om Ka Hari, directed by Harish Vyas. The film stars Anshuman Jha and Raghubir Yadav in the titular roles, with Soni Razdan, Samta Sudiksha and Ayesha Kapur in key parts.
Produced by First Ray Films, Om Ka Hari centres on a father-son rivalry. With Ae Meri Zindagi now released, the song offers audiences one final opportunity to hear Bhosle’s voice in a feature-film setting before the film arrives in cinemas on September 18, 2026.
