Jaya's 'Hues of Longing' set for London Fashion Film Festival

TBT Report
Jaya Ahsan-starrer fashion film 'Hues of Longing' has been selected for the 13th London Fashion Film Festival 2026 in the UK.
Written and directed by Randeep Bhattacharya and Yudhajit Bagchi, the film was produced under the banner of Mumbai-based production house Yanus Films.
Inspired by French poet and playwright Jean Cocteau's celebrated monodrama 'The Human Voice', the three-minute-and-25-second film explores absence in love, memory and the experience of waiting.
Fashion films of this kind combine storytelling with the visual aesthetics of fashion and cinema.
Jaya said that 'Hues of Longing' was filmed last year in Serampore, West Bengal, the hometown of the two directors.
The entire production was shot at an old colonial-era house on the banks of the Hooghly River, with its walls, verandas and interplay of light and shadow providing the backdrop for the film's themes of longing and waiting.
Jaya also said the directors approached her with the idea of collaborating on an experimental project.
"The directors contacted me and asked whether I would be interested in doing an experimental project like this.
That's how we ended up making it. The experience was wonderful. I was styled for the film by Rishav, a stylist who is very dear to me," she added.
Reflecting on the experience, she said, "The atmosphere of the story, the old house and the riverbank all came together to give me a wonderful opportunity to embody the character.
I'm also delighted that the film has been selected for an international fashion film festival. I hope audiences at the festival will enjoy the work as well."
The London Fashion Film Festival will take place on September 23 at Vue West End in Leicester Square, London.
