The awards, honours and personal memorabilia earned throughout the distinguished artistic career of legendary Bangladeshi actor Bulbul Ahmed, will now be permanently preserved at the Bangladesh Film Archive.
Marking the celebrated actor's birthday on Friday, his wife Daisy Ahmed and daughter Tahsin Farzana Tilottoma formally handed over a collection of his awards, honours and memorabilia to Bangladesh Film Archive Director General M Javed Iqbal recently.
The family took the initiative to preserve these valuable mementos as part of the nation's cultural heritage, in recognition of Bulbul Ahmed's extraordinary contribution to Bangladeshi cinema and culture. The collection will also enable future generations to learn about and appreciate the life, work and achievements of one of the country's most celebrated actors.
Every year, Bulbul Ahmed's family members and admirers commemorate his birthday on 4 September through various programmes and activities.
