Prime Minister's Political Adviser Nazrul Islam Khan today said the government will soon form a Public Administration Reform Commission to overhaul the public administration.

"We want to form an Administrative Reform Commission, but if there are ghosts (culprits) and such things in the commission, it will not be able to function properly. It is a little time," he said.

He said this while responding to questions from journalists at a discussion meeting held this afternoon to mark 180 days of the government.

At the event, Prime Minister's Adviser on Public Administration Ismail Zabihullah said the government still holds the election manifesto regarding the formation of the Public Administration Reform Commission.

"It is working towards that goal. You have seen some processes and some work has already started at the Ministry of Public Administration," he said.

"Especially, some individuals who carried the flag of the previous government still remain in our administration. We have been trying to identify them and 
carry out a cleansing operation by removing them from those positions, and this process is continuing," he added.

He said nothing can be done that would harm the country and the nation. "We have to come out of the way-this administration was politicized," he added.

"A report on public administration reform was submitted during the interim government and we reviewed it. We are going to form a commission for public administration reform very soon," he said.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon said work was underway to form a Media Commission.

"Everyone who has spoken to the Prime Minister from the media has praised the Prime Minister, they have not felt any kind of government control or influence in any media outlet," he said.

"There is no mismatch between their interest in forming a Media Commission to institutionalise this system and our commitment," he said, adding that the 
work is progressing with everyone on board.The discussion meeting marking 180 days of the government was held at the International Conference Centre 'Shapla' at the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) in Tejgaon.

Before the question-and-answer session with journalists, Prime Minister's Office Spokesperson Mahdi Amin presented statistics on the government's activities and achievements over 180 days.

Prime Minister's Press Secretary Saleh Shibli moderated the discussion, which was addressed by Prime Minister's Political Advisers Nazrul Islam Khan and 
Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon, and Prime Minister's Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman.

State Ministers, Prime Minister's advisers, Special Assistants and other officials of the PMO were present at the event.
