DHAKA, —The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) today confirmed that they will host New Zealand for a five-match T20 International series from September 1-10. The series is part of the preparation for the upcoming T20 World Cup in Dubai and Oman.

All of the matches of the series will take place at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

The Black Caps will arrive in Dhaka on August 24 and maintain room quarantine for three days before starting their practice. They will play a warm-up game on August 29 at BKSP.

The first match of the series will be held on September 1 and the rest will be on September 3, 5, 8 and 10.

This will be New Zealand’s first tour to Bangladesh since 2013, when the teams played two Tests, three ODIs and one T20I. Bangladesh drew the Test series but whitewashed the Kiwis in a three-match ODI series. New Zealand won the solitary T20 International match.

Thereafter New Zealand have hosted Bangladesh twice – for a full tour in 2016 and a limited-overs series in 2021. In their most recent outing across March and April, New Zealand whitewashed Bangladesh in both the ODIs and the T20Is.

Bangladesh are currently hosting Australia for a five-match T20I series at home. Earlier, England’s white-ball tour of Bangladesh for three ODIs and as many T20Is, which was scheduled in September-October this year, was pushed to March 2023.
