BTV Chattogram brings ‘Eid in the Hills’ featuring nine ethnic communities

As Eid approaches, television channels are preparing a wide range of special programmes. Among them is a unique cultural show titled “Eid in the Hills”, featuring colourful performances by artistes from nine ethnic communities. The programme, set to air on Bangladesh Television Chattogram Centre, showcases the cultural traditions of the participating communities.

Produced by Bangladesh Television executive producer Sadikul Islam Niyogi Ponni, the two-part show will be broadcast from BTV Chattogram Centre on the fourth and fifth days of Eid.

According to a press note, the programme was filmed with dance and musical performances by artistes from the Bawm, Chak, Marma, Mro, Tripura, Tanchangya, Chakma, Khiyang and Gurkha communities living in the hill districts of Bandarban and Rangamati in the Chattogram Hill Tracts.

Hosted by Valentina Tripura, each episode of the two-part programme will feature performances by artistes from seven ethnic communities. In addition, residents of the hill tracts will speak about Eid celebrations in the region in every episode.

The overall supervision of the programme was carried out by Md Imam Hossain, General Manager of BTV Chattogram Centre.
