Popular singer Syed Omy to perform in Shahrasti

TBT REPORT

A much-anticipated canal excavation program is set to be inaugurated on Saturday, May 16, in the Uyaruk area of Shahrasti Upazila. The event will be attended by the Prime Minister of Bangladesh and Chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, Tarique Rahman, as the chief guest.

His visit has created a festive atmosphere across the area, with local administration, law enforcement agencies, and party leaders making extensive preparations.

According to relevant sources, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is expected to arrive in Shahrasti at around 12:30 pm on Saturday. Preparations at the venue are in full swing, including stage construction, decorations, road repairs, cleaning efforts, and tightened security arrangements.

To make the event more vibrant and attractive, a cultural program has also been organized. Abu Yusuf Rupom Patwari, Vice President of the Upazila BNP and a prominent businessman, said that renowned Baul artist Kuddus Boyati and popular singer Syed Omy will perform from the morning.

He added, “The Prime Minister’s visit has generated tremendous enthusiasm among the general public. Through this cultural arrangement, we aim to make the celebratory atmosphere even more colorful.”

Meanwhile, extensive preparations have been underway in Uyaruk over the past several days. Local Member of Parliament Lion Engineer Mominul Haque has been overseeing the overall arrangements on-site.

Speaking to journalists during an inspection, he said, “We have taken all necessary steps to make the Prime Minister’s visit to Uyaruk successful and memorable. Through coordinated efforts by the administration, law enforcement agencies, and party leaders, we are committed to delivering a well-organized and successful event.”
