Finance Minister assures full budget support to strengthen family card project

Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury today announced that the government remains fully committed to the Family Card project, confirming that comprehensive funding will be allocated in the upcoming budget to sustain the initiative.

“The government is actively identifying and rectifying initial implementation errors to ensure the flagship project’s long-term success,” he said.

The minister made the remarks while speaking to journalists following a meeting on the project’s progress at the Ministry of Finance in the city.

Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury categorized the Family Card project as a flagship initiative of the current government, ensuring it receives top priority in the national planning.

He provided a firm assurance that the fiscal plan for the next year will include all necessary provisions to support and expand the programme.

"Budget will not be a barrier for this project," the minister stated, adding that the government is prepared to provide whatever funding is required to meet the project's objectives.

He noted that this remains a critical policy decision to ensure social safety nets reach the intended beneficiaries without financial constraint.

Concluding his remarks, Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury noted that through the ongoing process of correction and coordination, the government aims to establish a near-flawless system for service delivery.

The minister reiterated that the successful implementation of the Family Card project will remain a cornerstone of the government's commitment to social welfare and inclusive development.
