PM joins JS session

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today joined the third sitting of the maiden session of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) here.

The premier took his seat five minutes prior to the session resumed at 3pm after the vacation on the occasion of the Eid-ul-Fitr, Prime Minister's Deputy Press Secretary Jahidul Islam Rony said.

JS Deputy Speaker and lawmaker from Netrokona-1 constituency Barrister Kayser Kamal presided over the sitting in the absence of Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, Bir Bikram.

At the outset of the sitting, the deputy speaker delivered a welcome speech.

Earlier, the maiden session of the new Jatiya Sangsad began on March 12.

On March 15, the session was adjourned till 3:00 pm on March 29 following the second sitting on that day.
