PM seeks officials' cooperation to implement BNP's election manifesto

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today sought the cooperation of government officials and employees to implement the commitments made in his party's election manifesto, including those in health and education, women's education, employment and sports.

"Every political party has a manifesto. Through a fair election, the people have given their mandate in favor of implementing the election manifesto of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). Son, we must work in line with the commitments outlined in the manifesto," he said.

The premier made the remarks while addressing his first view-exchange meeting with serving officers and employees at the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) at the Shapla Hall of the PMO in the city's Tejgaon area in the morning.

Prime Minister's advisers Mirza Abbas Uddin Ahmed, Md Ismail Zabiullah, Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir, Humayun Kabir, Brigadier General (Retd) Shamsul Islam, Dr Zahed Ur Rahman and Mahdi Amin were present at the meeting.

Stressing on ensuring the security of the people so that they feel safe, Tarique Rahman said, "If we all work together, we can surely achieve this goal".

He expressed hope that officials and employees would extend full cooperation in eliminating corruption from the country.

The country's people are looking to the government with great expectations, the premier said, noting that the officials and employees are also part of that government.

"The government will perform well only when you extend your cooperation to it," he said.

"(Since) we consider this country our first and last destination, we must work to change the destiny of the country's people," Tarique Rahman added.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister instructed officials and employees to maintain confidentiality in matters concerning the interests of the country and the state.

He stressed the importance of strictly adhering to government rules and regulations in order to lead the nation toward a disciplined state.

Prime Minister's Principal Secretary ABM Abdus Sattar delivered the welcome address while PMO Director General Mohammad Abdul Wadud Chowdhury made a presentation on the structure and functions of the office.

Heads of different departments and offices under the PMO along with its officers and employees were present at the meeting.
