Even then, public transport, rickshaw passengers, pedestrians do not have masks on their faces. Some forget to wear masks, some are indifferent. Members of the Ward Disaster Management Committee (WDMC) were with the Urban Community Volunteers (UCV) to find such people and put on masks.

On Tuesday (April 13), a group of Urban volunteers put masks on the faces of day laborers, rickshaw pullers, slum dwellers on Lalmatia, Ghaznabi, Humayun and Babar Roads in Mohammadpur.

Not only the distribution of masks, at the same time the hand mike is encouraged to wear a mask when out of the house, wash hands with soap, do not touch the nose and mouth, avoid crowds, shake hands and do not hug. Those who did not wear masks were told that if they wanted to survive, they must wear masks to save them. Hygiene rules must be followed.

Syed Hasan Nur Islam said, “We are watching with great concern that many people do not have face masks on the roads, in public transport and in the market. Some needy, illiterate people may be indifferent to buying masks but many gentlemen, young people are not wearing masks either. Which is sad. At the time when the second wave of Corona hit, the CPD’s initiative was commendable. Hopefully, besides various initiatives of the government, various social, cultural and professional organizations will also come forward to create awareness by wearing masks”

CPD’s Khan Md.MuzahidIbne Habib said the first wave of coronavirus infection in the country was quite intense in June-July last year. The second wave of Corona started in March this year. This time the infection is more intense than the first wave. More patients are being identified at the beginning of the second wave than at the peak of the first wave. Every day new records of coronavirus detection are being set in the country. Death is also on the rise. Properly covered, it will withstand a great deal of adverse conditions.
