BNP to create Faridpur division if elected: Tarique Rahman

BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman today announced that if his party forms government with the supports of people in coming election Faridpur division will be created.

Tarique Rahman said this while addressing a public rally at the Government Rajendra College ground in Faridpur this afternoon as part of his election tour.

The BNP Chairman said that the BNP believes all state power originates from the people and BNP seeks to take responsibility for running the state with the belief.

Referring to the long-standing problem of river erosion in the Faridpur region, he said that if the BNP comes to power, effective solutions would be taken to protect the Padma and other rivers from erosion.

Since morning, leaders, activists and supporters from various upazilas of Faridpur and neighboring districts gathered at the rally venue. The rally ground and surrounding areas turned into a sea of people. 

An atmosphere of festivity prevailed across the district town centering Tarique Rahman’s visit. Many people said that the massive turnout at the Faridpur rally proves that the people want change. They added that such a large political gathering in Faridpur after a long time has brought new momentum.

BNP central organising secretary (Faridpur division) Shama Obaid, Central Krishak Dal General Secretary Shahidul Islam Babul, Jatiyatabadi Mohila Dal Joint Convener Chowdhury Nayab Yusuf, Faridpur District BNP Convener Syed Modarres Ali Issa, District BNP General Secretary AKM Kibria Swapan, among others, spoke in the event.
