Survey reaffirms interim govt continues to enjoy broad public support: Shafiqul

Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam has said the 'Innovision Survey' has once again confirmed that the interim government continues to enjoy broad public support.

"With an approval rating nearing 80 percent after more than 13 months in office, this is a clear testament to the IG's (interim government's) effective governance and its successful stewardship of an economic recovery that is nearly unprecedented in the current global context," he wrote in a post on his verified Facebook account today.

The Innovision Consulting, a global management consulting firm, conducted the survey. The findings of the study were presented earlier today at a roundtable titled 'People's Election Pulse Survey, Round 2: Report Launch', held at the Azimur Rahman Conference Hall of The Daily Star Centre in the city.

Shafiqul wrote in his post that contrary to the claims of certain discredited economists - who often rely on selective data to push their narratives - Bangladesh is firmly back in business.

"Exports are rising, imports are growing at a healthy pace, the balance of payments remains strong, and the exchange rate is stable. Likewise, contrary to alarmist portrayals, the law and order situation remains under control, as evidenced by police crime statistics," he added.

The press secretary said equally significant is the public's overwhelming intention to participate in the upcoming February election, with 95 percent indicating they plan to vote.

"This is not only a strong signal of confidence in the credibility and inclusiveness of the electoral process, but also a reflection of a broader national sentiment: the Bangladeshi people have decisively moved on from the BAL (Bangladesh Awami League) era - despite the noise from certain YouTubers who once gave cover to crimes against humanity," he added.

The people of Bangladesh have made up their minds, he wrote, adding, "The February (2026) election will be a defining moment in the nation's democratic journey. And the Innovision Survey - the largest conducted in the past 14 months - tells that story clearly."
