Staff Correspondent: Mohammad Ali, former First Vice President of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) and a valiant freedom fighter, is set to contest for the presidency in the upcoming FBCCI elections.
Mohammad Ali, a well-known and respected figure in the country's business community, has long played an active role in promoting trade and commerce in Bangladesh. His participation in the Liberation War stands as a testament to his patriotism, while his leadership in various FBCCI initiatives has already demonstrated his wisdom, competence, and leadership qualities.
Speaking about his candidacy, Mohammad Ali said, “FBCCI is not merely a representative body for businesspeople, but a key driver of our economic transformation. I firmly believe that the FBCCI can play a pivotal role in safeguarding the interests of the business community and fostering the country’s economic growth. If elected president, I will work to make the organization more effective, inclusive, modern, digital, accountable, and an active stakeholder in national development.”
He further stated that his priorities will include ensuring policy support to make the country's industrial and business environment more sustainable and modern, promoting young entrepreneurs, and expanding regional trade.
“In the face of current global and domestic market challenges, we need coordinated and visionary leadership,” he added. “My goal is to help build a business-friendly policy framework, support young entrepreneurs, expand the SME sector, and strengthen Bangladesh’s position in the international market.”
Mohammad Ali’s candidacy has already sparked optimism within the business community. Many believe that his blend of experience, wisdom, patriotism, and visionary leadership could elevate FBCCI to new heights.
Following the official announcement of the FBCCI election schedule, various groups have begun forming panels. Sources say Mohammad Ali is expected to officially announce his panel and election manifesto very soon.
